Through our programmes of
training and consultancy Children North East has the skills and experience to enable organisations to meet their aspirations for male inclusion.
Providing parenting support to male carers has been shown to improve outcomes for children and young people and is an important element of the Every Child Matters agenda.
Policy and guidance from the government is now placing an obligation on services to address gender inequalities in service provision and to challenge segregation in employment practices which have excluded men from non-traditional roles. For more information see the
Children's Centre Practice Guidance,
the National Service Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity Services and the
Gender Equality Duty.
Children North East can help your agency address these issues through a combination of assessment and consultancy as well as support for staff through training and network development.
A number of Sure Start programmes, Children's Centres and schools have Children North East Fathers Plus workers involved and our Project also works, on an advisory basis, into many other settings.
