Through
'Fathers Plus' and other programmes
Children North East have been working since 1997 with agencies across early years, education, health, youth offending and other settings to support positive engagement with men.
The
Children North East Fatherhood Centre was set up with seed money from the
Department for Education and Skills through the
Parenting Fund. The centre runs networks and events as well as developing resources to support work across the UK.
In 2006 the centre supported the development of an online knowledge bank to enable workers, managers and carers to share information and work together to include men in services
Our networking activities provide a means for professionals developing work in this emerging field to share good practice, identify barriers and opportunities and influence policy.
You can find out more about why there is a need for agencies to work to include men by looking at the section For Workers.
